How to Get a Great Job as a Graffiti Artist
If you have always wanted to be a graffiti artist but never thought it was something you could do as a career, you may have heard differently recently. After all, graffiti artists are now being taken seriously as 'real artists' in many business areas, including the art world, and that means you could actually make a living as one.
Being a graffiti artist, however, should not mean that you scrape by on a living wage. Especially where there are some great jobs out there that pay really well.
Here is how you can get one.
Contact companies that use graffiti artists -- Advertising agencies, some large companies, video game developers, events planners and many other companies do actually hire graffiti artists to work for them full-time.
Contact any company that you can find online that has worked with graffiti artists in the past, and find out what you need to do to apply to work for them.
Look at special events planning -- There are several companies that do special events planning and that hire graffiti artists to work with them full-time.
These artists put on workshops for event attendees, paint murals for some of the companies whose events are being planned, and even put on graffiti art exhibits at special events themselves.
You will find several of these special events companies online. Read their websites thoroughly and then apply for a job.
Creating your own business -- If you are very independent, you may prefer to work for yourself.
It is possible to make a living as a graffiti artist by selling your services to businesses in your area that want graffiti art for projects they are working on, or even just for their own buildings.
Put together a portfolio and a price list and start visiting companies to get new clients.
